Actress, Singer and Songwriter FAWN Interviewed By The Eerie Digest Magazine
April 1, 2011 by News Staff
On April 1, 2011 The Eerie Digest Magazine owned by publisher and writer Mr. Joseph OâDonnell and our media partner interviewed our mutual friend Actress, Singer and Songwriter FAWN.
Fawn was asked about her music career, film, tv credits, nominations, awards and charity involvement.

Please read some of the interesting questions and responses:
ED- The Eerie Digest is really proud to introduce someone that has been a major part of many of the favorite television shows and films today. Singer / Songwriter / Recording Artist and Composer Fawn has created, written and sung many of the songs heard on popular television shows that we watch daily. She also is a well noted singer and has won some of the most prestigious awards. Fawn, please tell our readers about your early days in music and your greatest influence towards this profession.
FAWN-The earliest connection I had to music was when I was still in diapers, and not yet walking. My parents have video footage of me pulling myself up in the crib, bouncing up and down to music, until my diapers fall down around my ankles! My earliest recollection however, was when I was 7, singing in the famed Childrenâs Chorale directed by Duane Wolfe. Surely, that was a huge influence on me as well as other recording artists towards this profession. I would sit for hours with my heard phones on, listening to records, over and over, each time listening to a different instrumental line in the song and memorizing it. At the time, I didnât realize that by listening to incredible songwriters, I was being taught prosody, commercial melody, lyrics, structure. Writers such as Gershwin, Sly Stone, John Denver, John Bettis, Queen, Pink Floyd, Sting, Michael Jackson, Paul Williams, Eminem, Marty Panzer, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Mercer, Dolly Parton, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Madonna, Barry Manilow, Diane Warren, The Carpenters, James Taylor, Dan Foelberg, India Arie, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, Carole King, The Beatles â were influencing and shaping my composing and lyrical skills. It felt like music was seeping out of my pores, so it had to go somewhere â into my piano, into my voice, into writing songs, into doing commercials. I started singing radio jingles at age 10 and I think that the catchy jingle melodies also had an influence on making me a very commercial writer.
ED- In 2010 your work appeared in âThe Click List: Top 10 Videosâ. Tell us about this and how it compared with your earlier work.
FAWN- Itâs difficult to compare this because it had nothing to do with composing or writing songs for Film and Television, this was for mainstream dance/pop music. The Click list aired my music video for my hit dance song âWish U Loveâ, produced by Chad Jack and Tim Letteer, and the music video was Directed by Stephen Wozniak. The song ultimately made it to #6 on the Billboard Dance Charts and the music video stayed in the top 10 for 5 months on MTVâs LOGO Channel, The Click List. It was a wonderful surprise.
ED- During this same period (2008-2011) you also worked with the popular television show âThe Young and the Restlessâ. Please describe your work on this production.
FAWN- The songs Iâve written for Young and The Restless have ranged from Pop songs, ala Katy Perry in French to Dance songs, to piano based compositions, to Standard Christmas songs, to Jazz songs, to Halloween songs, to acoustic songs, to rap songs, to hip hop, to broadway, to childrenâs songs. As a songwriter and vocalist, I have an expansive range of styles Iâve written and performed in. I also sing in almost every language. There is one specific memory I have where there was an âemergencyâ- the deadline was just one hour. I had to write, sing and record the song in FrenchâŠluckily I had a brilliant arranger and producer to work with to make that deadline happen, Danny James. He sent me a 10 second loop, which I looped into 1 minute and while I was recording my vocals, he was working on the arrangement and production end, I sang the song in one take, flew the vocals over to him, he mixed it and violaâ! There was the song! You can hear this song on youtube/FawnTv, itâs called âFrench Kiss.â I think I thrive under this kind of pressure. Some writers donât do so well with that, but I tend to blossom and revel in it, because I am extremely competitive, even with myself and it challenges me on every level.
ED-You have also won many coveted awards. Please tell our readers about these and the sense of accomplishment that you felt in receiving them.
FAWN- The fist award I ever won was for saving a Junior High School from a fire when I was 13 and another award at that age for philanthropic work, but as far as my music goes, the first award I ever won was when I was 16 for The Elovox Jazz Festival for my A Cappella, 12 voiced vocal rendition of âHere, There and Everywhereâ by the Beatles. Shortly after that I won the top songwriting awards 3 years in a row at Berklee College Of Music for my songs âLivinâ With Out Your Love,â âJust Look At Us Now,â and âPlayinâ The Fool.â Those will always be precious and dear memories to me, being noticed in the infantry of my music career. I have won a few songwriting awards over the years, one of which was the VH-1 song of the year for my song âInto The Lightâ with music co-written and produced by Lasswell. In 2009 I won the JPF Music Awards for Best Dance Song for of the Year â âWish u Love,â the JPF Music Award for Best Dance Album of the year â âBody, Soul and Mind,â and was nominated for the Hollywood Music In Media Award in 2010 â âWish U Loveâ and the Wake Up Award for 2010, which is for people who make a difference in this world. This is all I can think of, off the top of my head. I am always completely surprised just being recognized with any kind of nomination, and winningâŠwell forget about it! Iâm a mushy mess of gratitude! I do my music because it chose me, I didnât chose it, so it is always a blessing to be recognized that you are touching people in some way and making a difference in the world through the gift of music.
ED- In 2009 you won the JPF music awards for âWish U Loveâ â âBest Dance Songâ and âBody Soul and Mindâ â âBest Dance Albumâ for your album. You were also second only to Madonna in sales for the Masterbeat exclusive releases for âWish U Loveâ for 2 months running and you have produced several albums and singles and are working on some new material as well. Please tell us about these accomplishments and new developments.
FAWN-The JPF Music awards were held in Nashville, TN. and it was my first time ever being there, so just traveling and seeing the city was exciting enough! I remember when my name was called at the awards show â I couldnât believe it! I think that the laughter and clapping in the audience was due to the funny, shocked look on my face when my jaw dropped down to the floor in surprise. As I was leaving the stage with my award, they were announcing the other category. The photographer was taking photos of me with my award when some one came running over to the red carpet where we were and yelled, âFawn! You won again!â So I went back out there onstage, still a ball of nerves and excitement with tears streaming down my face from the first win. It was surreal. As for the success of âWish U Loveâ it has been a dream come true. To be second to Madonna in sales was mind blowing. It was also another pleasant surprise to be just underneath Lady Ga Ga on the Billboard Charts. I was overwhelmed by the incredible talent surrounding my music and was also in awe of it. As for new developments, I am currently writing and recording some Christmas songs for a Movie Of The Week, after that I will start recording a Dance Remake of an old song for Hades Records and will be finishing up my 2 new albums â An Electro Dance Album and a Piano Compositions Album. Both will be available this year.
ED- Your work has also raised over five million dollars for people with HIV/ AIDS. This was a most worthy cause, and we know that you are a star in every right for all the fine work that you have created. We have been honored to be able to have this interview with you and want to thank you for your time with us. Please promise that you keep us updated with your career so that The Eerie Digest can share this news with our legions of readers.
FAWN â Well thank you. I think that we are all stars in our own right. I used to have this saying on my wall growing up, and I memorized it: âTo be a star, you must shine your own light and do not be afraid of the darkness, for that is when stars shine their brightest.â We each need to be who we are born to be and be a LIGHT in the world. The song for HIV/AIDS was my first ârealâ song for the masses. Everything was donated on that song, and that was long before I knew any one with HIV/AIDS. I was a teenager when I wrote, sang and then recorded it with BT. The reason I wanted to do this song, was to give back to the world. I think we are only as good as what we give away. Thank you so much for asking me to be part of your magazine. I am honored and yes, I promise to keep you posted on my life, just for the Fawn of it! Ha Ha. Recording Artist Moby Performed for Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine
February 15, 2011 by News Staff

Grammy Nominated Electronic and Pop Recording Artist Moby performed a 30 minute acoustic set in Beverly Hills on February 12, 2010 for the PCRM (Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine) Fundraiser to a crowd of around 300 people.
Guests were shuttled up to the private estate of James Costa, a long time animal rights advocate with tickets going for $50 and the event running from 6-10pm. PCRM is a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 which has led the way for reforms in federal nutrition policies. Opposed to unethical human experiments, they promote and offer alternatives to animal research and testing. About an hour after the fundraiser began, a slide show was shown, with frightening statistics given on the obesity rate in children, stating that 1 in 3 children are now obese and 1 in 5 teens have abnormal cholesteral levels. Data showed a correlation of eating meat with these facts. The average American now eats 75 pounds more meat and 30 pounds more cheese each year, compared to a century ago. PCRM showed a new chart, called the “Power Plate” with four equal corners of Fruits, Grains, Legumes and Vegetables, promoted as “the well-rounded diet that could save your life” from the thepowerplate.org.
The slide show also discussed important animal issues at hand, as well as recent triumphs due to the tenacity, passion and compassion of PCRM. There were disturbing photos of a small squirrel monkey being squished into a narrow tube to be flown up into space for testing of the affects of ionizing radiation to simulate hazards of interplanetary space travel. When the photo was shown of the helpless animal, several gasps were heard in the crowd. Moments later the gasps turned to sighs as the guests were informed that PCRM was able to convince NASA to cancel the proposed monkey radiation experiments.
Shortly after the slide show and stories of triumphs and future areas of concern were shared, recording artist Moby performed an acoustic set. Although his performance was interrupted after just one song by Ady Gil who offered 2 all access Grammy passes, eventually selling to the highest bidder for $8,000, Moby seemed to take the auction intrusion in stride. Once continuing his set, he commented in between songs regarding the continual talking, asking people to go downstairs to chat. Moby played both guitar and piano during his performances, with the highlight being his vocal / acoustic guitar rendition of “Ring Of Fire” originally recorded by the late Johnny Cash.
Notables in attendance were Film makers Shaun Monson and Charles Hambleton, Recording Artists Moby, Fawn and Persia White, Book Authors Rory Freedman and Karen Dawn, Shannon Mann, Jane Valez-Mitchell, Patty Shenker, Ady Gil, Ellen Lavinthal, Robin Torme’, Kristin Bauer, Cindy Landon, Jennifer Landon, Chris DeRose, Libra Max and a host of others.

Over 250 Animals Right Activists Take Action To Make West Hollywood The First Fur Free City in the USA
January 31, 2011 by Esteban "Steven" Escobar
Filed under Breaking News, Community, Events, News
On Saturday, January 29, 2011 over 250 animal rights activists and concerned citizens, young and old stood side by side in the Matthew Shephard Memorial Triangle Park on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Crescent Heights in West Hollywood, California to rally for a fur-free West Hollywood.
With this ground-breaking action, the City of West Hollywood could become the first completely fur free city in the United States, leading as an example for the rest of the world to follow. The progressive city of “WeHo” was the first town to pass an anti-declaw bill and all out ban on live pet sales in the nation. With WeHo referring to human companions of animals as “guardians” instead of the past term, “owners,” it’s no wonder that they would make this unprecedented move to have an entirely fur free environment. Award winning director and animal rights attorney Shannon Keith said “in 1989 West Hollywood signed a resolution to make an animal cruelty-free zone, and it can’t be an animal cruelty-free zone unless they stop the selling of fur.”
To help make this happen, John DâAmico has stepped up to the plate, supporting the fur free message in his campaign for West Hollywood City Council. He is going to focus on this legislation while in office and be a continual advocate for a fur free world. He said that “West Hollywood has the opportunity to once again be a leader for animal welfare by becoming the first fur-free city in the nation.” D’Amico continued, “We have pledged to be a place that is free of cruelty to animals and we can no longer support the barbaric fur trade by selling the products of that cruelty in our city.”
Ed Buck, one of the organizers of “Fur Free WeHo,” said “This campaign is not just about banning fur but promoting West Hollywood as the capital of fur-free fashion, especially in its boutique district that includes a Stella McCartney store, which already shuns furs.” Buck was instrumental in helping get the ordinance passed which bans the sale of puppy mill animals in pet stores.
The initiative would make West Hollywood the first fur-free community in the United States and possibly the world. Hit Recording Artist Fawn commented “West Hollywood has always been a city ahead of it’s time, and the time is NOW to stop killing helpless and loving animals for their fur. The vanity of the fashion industry is utter insanity. People who wear real fur and even some faux furs have blood on their hands.”
Fawn walked through the crowd and streets, turning heads and hearts with a stark reminder written on a double-sided sign, adorned over her stunning rescued white wolf dog Coda, which read “15 of me = 1 fur coat” and “My father died for your fur coat.” When resident Deanne Sire saw the sign, she said “I guess I never thought of my fur having been a living being and having had a dad.”
Â
Actor Bill McNamara stated “Fur is definitely something we need to abolish, there is no reason that anybody today, in America needs to wear fur. It symbolized meanness of spirit. There is no other reason to wear it.”
New York Times Best Selling Author, Rory Freedman agreed with McNamera, sporting a shirt which read “Mean People Wear Fur.” Freedman explained, “Amongst other horrors, animals killed for their fur are subject to neck-breaking, strangulation, drowning, and anal or vaginal electrocution. Some are even skinned alive. All this so people with low self esteem can wear this shit and someone can make a few bucks selling it? Totally unacceptable and completely unnecessary.” She added, “I am thrilled that John D’Amico is making this issue his running platform and that West Hollywood can set a precedent for other cities to follow. Real change is not only possible, it’s imminent.”
Lords Of Acid vocalist Lacey Conner declared “The fur industry will never make itself humane and the only way to stop the fur industry is to make it go out of business.” She continue, “Don’t buy fur, if no one bought fur, the fur industry would go out of business and this mistreatment would not happen. I’m just asking people to please take a few minutes to to find out what is really going on.”
Film Producer Shannon Keith pointed out, “We have an election coming up on March 8th and it’s a great time to vote for the candidate that has a platform against fur. Once we get those candidates in place in city council, we will be able to move forward with this.”
“This is not about punishment or shame, it’s about really thinking creatively about how we live in the world and taking action and stopping the barbaric actions of harvesting fur, and really looking at who we are as individuals and as a people and West Hollywood is a great place for this to start.” Concluded Candidate John D’Amico.

Covering this event was worthy because it was classy and the people who came were well known in the Latin Community.

5. Beverly Hills Mayor Jimmy Delshad presents Proclamation to David Harrison Levi.
Another controversy in covering this event; people reached out to us and called us many names. They thought Mr. Levi did not deserve this high recognition from Mayor Delshad. People, Mr. David Harrison Levi is not hurting anyone, he is helping the community by raising awareness on Cancer. At least he is educating people and not doing any bad criminal acts. Just join forces and accept the he is raising awareness that Cancer is a killer and I can tell you that many of us will die of Cancer, Liver Damage or AIDS/HIV.

6. Skin Trade DocuFilm Exposes What Fashion Really Costs.
This movie really shows that the next time you buy fur to dress you up or meat, think twice. The poor animals are killed very badly alive while they take away their skin and then some of us buy the fur and food to eat. So People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and other animals activists are doing the right thing by educating us that it is not right to kill the animals in a brutal way and then make money off them.

7. 11th Latin GRAMMY Awards Nominees Announced in Hollywood.
This event we were invited to cover in Las Vegas, but you know driving in a town that is not familiar is a risk but all the news about the event it was all over.

8. Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff Makes Her New Vision Shake at Millions of Milkshakes.
After all the controversies on her drunk driving and other issues, she stepped up and got her own Millions of Milkshake which everyone wants to have. Hint: just know the right people and be famous to get one. Ms. Bach-Hasselhoff is somebody I grew up watching on BayWatch with her ex-husband David Hasselhoff.
Â
9. Pink and Cesar Milan Come Together for Puppy Mill Awareness Day.
When recording artists such as Pink and Fawn raise awareness to protect innocent animals, this is something great for our society. By being active and giving back to the community, this is the best example for our next generations.
10. Pamela Anderson makes her all-vegan Milkshake at celebrity hot spot Millions of Milkshakes.
Very sweet lady, cares about her fans and animals. She is involved with PETA as well and she deserves her own Million of Milkshake. By donating proceeds, this is the best win situation for the organization and Ms. Anderson.

On Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 9:30pm there was a pre-release special screening at the Artivist Film Festival of the documentary “How I Became An Elephant” produced by Jorja Fox and Tim Gorski. Due to incredible demand, the exclusive screening was held in the large movie theater at the Egyptian in Hollywood. The pre-release was originally scheduled for Saturday, December 4th in a smaller theater but was re-scheduled to accommodate a beyond sold-out audience of over 400 enthusiasts.
Directed by Award winning film makers, Tim Gorski and Synthian Sharp, this “Rattle The Cage Productions” documentary tells the heartwarming and heartwrenchheart-wrenching14 year old girl, Juliette West who journeys to Thailand to meet up with Asia’s famed Elephant savior, Lek Chailert. With love in their hearts and determination in their minds, Lek and Juliette set out to rescue the female elephant, Ratree, a severely abused 35 year-old elephant, from the Surin Elephant Roundup. Volunteers and the RTC film production crew made the 22 hour trip by truck to transport Ratree (which means Midnight, because she was their “midnight girl”), to her new home at the Elephant Nature Park. The film details what elephants go through overseas, with a short capsulization of their treatment in the United States. When asked about the film, Jorja Fox said “This movie is about elephants, it’s for elephants. It’s for our kids and their kids. But it applies to all the world’s animals, and the environment as a whole.” Film goer Melody said “I cried. They are such beautiful animals. I just can’t understand how people could treat them badly. How could someone see the pain and sadness in the eyes of any living creature and still hurt it?” When other audience members were asked to comment, the reactions seemed to be the same. Jean said “It was dreadful to see those majestic creatures treated so badly.” She went on to say “as for the Circus, I have never been and would never go.” Last Change For Animals undercover investigator Bryan stated “this is a must see movie for any one who is conscious. Whether you’re an elephant expert or have never seen an elephant before, you will learn something and be moved to action by this film.”

Editorâs Note: The Hollywood Music In Media Awards was very classy event, but the only problem we found it was that as media/press and vip we needed to wear like more than 3 different wrist bands. We also notice that people started to leave around 9:30 pm and that is rude. May be organizers needs to do this event on a Friday night like that people do not need to go work next day. In a good note we want to thanks the event publicist; Luck Media and Marketing especially Chrissy Stutphin and Shea Lea for allowing us to be part of a great event. Very special thanks to Producer/Actor Mark Valinsky of Valinsky Media Group and our representatives Daniela Hubbard, My Self Esteban “Steven” Escobar have a great time. On Sunday, November 14, 2010, The Pain Foundation presented a screening of the film, ‘Unseen Hands’ directed by Don Johns at the Charles Aidikoff Screening Room on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Tickets ranged from $40-$60, with the event running from 6-10pm and was hosted by Patty McCall, Producer, Actress and Author of  âUnmasking The Pain Withinâ’.  The function included an auction, book signing and red carpet.
Based on a true story, the film ‘Unseen Hands’ depicts one woman’s journey through deceit, manipulation and marital abuse with raw onscreen performances by actor Eric Andersen and the ever stunning actress Alicia Benavides-Greenfield. The auction included items from Singer/Actress Jessica Simpson and Mark Sanchez, Football Quarterback for the New York Jets. Sponsors and Contributors of the evening were California Talent, Ingridâs CafĂ© of Beverly Hills, Dan Nash, New Life In Christ Bible Fellowship, Joel Garza, Charles Aidikoff, Trish Steel, Safe Passage, March Sanchez, Jessica Simpson, Daryl Kerns, Alex Kube, On Track Pictures, Got Munchies, Diversity News Publications and Mariah McGuinnis.

There were touching performances by Multi-Platinum Award Winning Guitarist/Producer Frank R Greenfield aka ‘DeVille’, American Music Awards and NAACP Awards Singer/Songwriter Shawntae Jackson, Singer Michael-Ann, Comedy Store Comedian Diane Kawasaki and 19 year old child abuse survivor and rapper Juny Honaker.
Anger Management and Domestic Violence expert Marty Brenner spoke to the select crowd of around 100 people stating that “Anger is a feeling that needs to be vented by itself without hostility or aggression. No one deserves violent, raging behavior. Anger management enables us to function assertively and rationally when anger comes up, with the ability to protect our rights and express our needs when we feel violated.” He went on to explain that “the goal of anger management counseling is to totally immerse participants enough so that they can confront denial, accept responsibility for controlling their anger, become fully fluent in the anger management concepts and gain intensive hands-on experience in applying these concepts in their own lives.”
An audience member asked Brenner if people with control issues, violent behavior and anger can change, he said “Yes they can – I did! Given the proper motivation, tools and strategies, any one can change.” He said he provides a “step-by-step process that helps them control their anger” which will in turn begin to change their anger patterns.
After the speakers, entertainment and screening concluded, guests were able to meet and greet the author and producer of the film in the lobby, where she was signing copies of “Unmasking The Pain Within.” Notables in attendance were Aura Imbarus, PhD., Educator and Author of “Out of the Transylvania Night,” Hit Recording Artist, Grammy Considered Songwriter and Animal and Children’s Rights Activist Fawn and Actor, Musician, Veronica DiPippo, Lisa Ann Vombrack, Emperor Frederick Von Seidl, Ingrid Bedrosian, Teresa Brown, Jimmy Driscoll, Â Film Director Mark Valinsky.
