2010 Los Angeles LGBT PRIDE 40th Anniversary Festival & Parade Celebration

On Friday, June 11 to Sunday June 13, 2010 Christopher Street West (CSW) held Los Angeles LGBT Pride 40th Anniversary Festival and Parade Celebration in West Hollywood, CA. Per CSW Over half a million of people were expected during the weekend celebration.
CSW 2010 Honorees were Jane Velez-Mitchell – Person of the Year Award, Nadia Sutton – Morris Kight Lifetime Achievement Award, Best in Drag Show – CSW Special Community Award, HONOR PAC – CSW Special Community Award, Guy Baldwin – Berman/Schaffer Award, Bamby Salcedo – Connie Norman Award, Ari Ruiz – Outstanding Youth Leader Award, Sheryl Lee Ralph – George Moscone Award, Reverend Dr. Neil G. Thomas – Harvey Milk Award, West Coast Singers – Pat Parker Arts Award, D.I.V.A. – Torie Osborn / Dick Michaels Media Award and M•A•C Cosmetics – The Sheldon Andelson Award.
Last year’s 2009 CSW LA PRIDE honorees were Jeanne CĂłrdova; Morris Kight Lifetime Achievement Award, Therese Stewart; Woman of the Year Award, John A. PĂ©rez; Man of the Year Award, Claudette Colbert a.k.a. “Claudette Sexy DJ”; CSW Special Community Award, Jim Williams; CSW Special Community Award, Chris Angel Murphy; Outstanding Youth Leader Award, Hollywood United Methodist Church; Berman/Schafer Award, Doug Spearman; Connie Norman Award, Sean Penn; George Moscone Award, Maria Louise Roman; Harvey Milk Award, Tom of Finland Foundation; Pat Parker Arts Award, Regent Media; Sheldon Andelson Award, and Pat Rocco; Torie Osborn/Dick Michaels Media Award.
These year some of the LA PRIDE Main Stage show performances were on Saturday, June 12, 2010 by Kelis, Matisse and En Vogue and on Sunday, June 13, 2010 the line up were Josie Cotton, Martha Davis & The Motels and Kelly Rowland. Also special performance courtesy of DJ Casey Alva was International Dance Diva Pepper Mashay. Both days were hosted by Billy Masters & Momma.

On Wednesday, June 9, 2010 Christopher Street West (CSW) held An Evening of PRIDE with 2010 LA PRIDE Parade Grand Marshals, Sharon & Kelly Osbourne.The event was held from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at at Eleven Night Club & Restaurant in West Hollywood, CA.
Sharon Osbourne walked the red carpet and got interviewed by media outlets (Kelly Osbourne did not make it to the event). Also recording artist Taylor Dayne make an appearance to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of LA PRIDE.

Los Angeles Mayor’s Garden Party held on 6-6-2010 at The Getty House (his home) it was hosted by LA Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa to celebrate CSW LA 40th PRIDE 2010.
The event was by invitation only. Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, LA PRIDE Parade Grand Marshals attended the event. They both spoke at the event in front of government officials, non profit leaders, celebrities, 2010 CSW LA Honorees and many more.

En Vogue and Kelly Rowland Headliners to perform at the Main Pavilion Stage for LA Pride 2010

Christopher Street West announces the 2010 Headliners for this year’s celebration for June 12 and 13, 2010. En Vogue, Kelly Rowland, Kelis, Martha Davis & The Motels will be Headliners for the 2010 LA Pride Celebration and perform on the Main Stage. Kelis will perform “Milkshake”; and En Vogue will perform “Free Your Mind”, “My Lovin’ – You’re Never Gonna Get It!”, and “Whatta Man”. On Sunday after the parade, Martha Davis & The Motels will perform, and later Kelly Rowland will perform “When Love Takes Over”. More Headliners for the other Dance Pavilions will be announced soon by Christopher Street West.
The Festival admission cost is $20.00 per day or $15 if bought in advance at www.lapride.org. Tickets include access to all entertainment venues. The event organizers expect around 400.000 people. The Parade starts at Crescent Heights Blvd and runs along Santa Monica Blvd to Robertson Blvd. It will be held on Sunday beginning at 11:00 am. The parade will also be broadcast live via www.lapride.org/webcast

2010 Christopher Street West to present the 40th Anniversary of LA PRIDE

On April 6, 2010 Christopher Street West producer of LGBT Pride announced the they will presents the 40th Anniversary of LA PRIDE to be held in the City of West Hollywood on June 11 through June 13, 2010.
The LA Pride consists of LA Pride Festival, LA Pride Parade, Pride Days during the month of June and Dyke March. “PRIDE 365: Power. Passion. Purpose.” is the organization vision. The LA Pride Festival features live entertainment, including DJ’s playing at various pavilions stages. Local community vendors, exhibitors and other non-profit organizations takes the opportunity to provide a diverse mix of food, drinks, education, awareness and fun. LA Pride features: Circuit, Dance, Country, Latin, Rhythm & Soul Dance pavilions, including Erotic City, Community Village & Children’s Garden. The Festival will open on June 12 from 12:00 noon until 11:00 p.m and on June 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Last year LA PRIDE Main Stage show performances were held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 by Deborah Cox, Fantasia, Erika Jayne and Debby Holiday and on Sunday, June 14, 2009 the line up were Expose, Blake Lewis and Terri Nunn and Berlin. Both days were hosted by Billy Masters & Momma.
Also last year some of the speakers at the press conference were West Hollywood Mayor Abbe Land, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Christopher Street West Board President Rodney Scott, Actress Kate Del Castillo, and Kristal Vick, People of Faith Standing Up for Equality.
The Festival admission, cost is $20.00 per day or if buy in advance at www.lapride.org is $15.00 ticket which includes access to all entertainment venues. The event organizers expect around 400.000 people. The first LGBT Pride Parade was held on June 28, 1970 in Los Angeles. The Parade starts at Crescent Heights Blvd an runs along Santa Monica Blvd to Robertson Blvd and is held on Sunday from at 11:00 am. Also the Parade is broadcast live via www.lapride.org/webcast
