On April 1, 2011 The Eerie Digest Magazine owned by publisher and writer Mr. Joseph OâDonnell and our media partner interviewed our mutual friend Actress, Singer and Songwriter FAWN.
Fawn was asked about her music career, film, tv credits, nominations, awards and charity involvement.

Please read some of the interesting questions and responses:
ED- The Eerie Digest is really proud to introduce someone that has been a major part of many of the favorite television shows and films today. Singer / Songwriter / Recording Artist and Composer Fawn has created, written and sung many of the songs heard on popular television shows that we watch daily. She also is a well noted singer and has won some of the most prestigious awards. Fawn, please tell our readers about your early days in music and your greatest influence towards this profession.
FAWN-The earliest connection I had to music was when I was still in diapers, and not yet walking. My parents have video footage of me pulling myself up in the crib, bouncing up and down to music, until my diapers fall down around my ankles! My earliest recollection however, was when I was 7, singing in the famed Childrenâs Chorale directed by Duane Wolfe. Surely, that was a huge influence on me as well as other recording artists towards this profession. I would sit for hours with my heard phones on, listening to records, over and over, each time listening to a different instrumental line in the song and memorizing it. At the time, I didnât realize that by listening to incredible songwriters, I was being taught prosody, commercial melody, lyrics, structure. Writers such as Gershwin, Sly Stone, John Denver, John Bettis, Queen, Pink Floyd, Sting, Michael Jackson, Paul Williams, Eminem, Marty Panzer, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Mercer, Dolly Parton, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Madonna, Barry Manilow, Diane Warren, The Carpenters, James Taylor, Dan Foelberg, India Arie, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, Carole King, The Beatles â were influencing and shaping my composing and lyrical skills. It felt like music was seeping out of my pores, so it had to go somewhere â into my piano, into my voice, into writing songs, into doing commercials. I started singing radio jingles at age 10 and I think that the catchy jingle melodies also had an influence on making me a very commercial writer.
ED- In 2010 your work appeared in âThe Click List: Top 10 Videosâ. Tell us about this and how it compared with your earlier work.
FAWN- Itâs difficult to compare this because it had nothing to do with composing or writing songs for Film and Television, this was for mainstream dance/pop music. The Click list aired my music video for my hit dance song âWish U Loveâ, produced by Chad Jack and Tim Letteer, and the music video was Directed by Stephen Wozniak. The song ultimately made it to #6 on the Billboard Dance Charts and the music video stayed in the top 10 for 5 months on MTVâs LOGO Channel, The Click List. It was a wonderful surprise.
ED- During this same period (2008-2011) you also worked with the popular television show âThe Young and the Restlessâ. Please describe your work on this production.
FAWN- The songs Iâve written for Young and The Restless have ranged from Pop songs, ala Katy Perry in French to Dance songs, to piano based compositions, to Standard Christmas songs, to Jazz songs, to Halloween songs, to acoustic songs, to rap songs, to hip hop, to broadway, to childrenâs songs. As a songwriter and vocalist, I have an expansive range of styles Iâve written and performed in. I also sing in almost every language. There is one specific memory I have where there was an âemergencyâ- the deadline was just one hour. I had to write, sing and record the song in FrenchâŚluckily I had a brilliant arranger and producer to work with to make that deadline happen, Danny James. He sent me a 10 second loop, which I looped into 1 minute and while I was recording my vocals, he was working on the arrangement and production end, I sang the song in one take, flew the vocals over to him, he mixed it and violaâ! There was the song! You can hear this song on youtube/FawnTv, itâs called âFrench Kiss.â I think I thrive under this kind of pressure. Some writers donât do so well with that, but I tend to blossom and revel in it, because I am extremely competitive, even with myself and it challenges me on every level.
ED-You have also won many coveted awards. Please tell our readers about these and the sense of accomplishment that you felt in receiving them.
FAWN- The fist award I ever won was for saving a Junior High School from a fire when I was 13 and another award at that age for philanthropic work, but as far as my music goes, the first award I ever won was when I was 16 for The Elovox Jazz Festival for my A Cappella, 12 voiced vocal rendition of âHere, There and Everywhereâ by the Beatles. Shortly after that I won the top songwriting awards 3 years in a row at Berklee College Of Music for my songs âLivinâ With Out Your Love,â âJust Look At Us Now,â and âPlayinâ The Fool.â Those will always be precious and dear memories to me, being noticed in the infantry of my music career. I have won a few songwriting awards over the years, one of which was the VH-1 song of the year for my song âInto The Lightâ with music co-written and produced by Lasswell. In 2009 I won the JPF Music Awards for Best Dance Song for of the Year â âWish u Love,â the JPF Music Award for Best Dance Album of the year â âBody, Soul and Mind,â and was nominated for the Hollywood Music In Media Award in 2010 â âWish U Loveâ and the Wake Up Award for 2010, which is for people who make a difference in this world. This is all I can think of, off the top of my head. I am always completely surprised just being recognized with any kind of nomination, and winningâŚwell forget about it! Iâm a mushy mess of gratitude! I do my music because it chose me, I didnât chose it, so it is always a blessing to be recognized that you are touching people in some way and making a difference in the world through the gift of music.
ED- In 2009 you won the JPF music awards for âWish U Loveâ â âBest Dance Songâ and âBody Soul and Mindâ â âBest Dance Albumâ for your album. You were also second only to Madonna in sales for the Masterbeat exclusive releases for âWish U Loveâ for 2 months running and you have produced several albums and singles and are working on some new material as well. Please tell us about these accomplishments and new developments.
FAWN-The JPF Music awards were held in Nashville, TN. and it was my first time ever being there, so just traveling and seeing the city was exciting enough! I remember when my name was called at the awards show â I couldnât believe it! I think that the laughter and clapping in the audience was due to the funny, shocked look on my face when my jaw dropped down to the floor in surprise. As I was leaving the stage with my award, they were announcing the other category. The photographer was taking photos of me with my award when some one came running over to the red carpet where we were and yelled, âFawn! You won again!â So I went back out there onstage, still a ball of nerves and excitement with tears streaming down my face from the first win. It was surreal. As for the success of âWish U Loveâ it has been a dream come true. To be second to Madonna in sales was mind blowing. It was also another pleasant surprise to be just underneath Lady Ga Ga on the Billboard Charts. I was overwhelmed by the incredible talent surrounding my music and was also in awe of it. As for new developments, I am currently writing and recording some Christmas songs for a Movie Of The Week, after that I will start recording a Dance Remake of an old song for Hades Records and will be finishing up my 2 new albums â An Electro Dance Album and a Piano Compositions Album. Both will be available this year.
ED- Your work has also raised over five million dollars for people with HIV/ AIDS. This was a most worthy cause, and we know that you are a star in every right for all the fine work that you have created. We have been honored to be able to have this interview with you and want to thank you for your time with us. Please promise that you keep us updated with your career so that The Eerie Digest can share this news with our legions of readers.
FAWN â Well thank you. I think that we are all stars in our own right. I used to have this saying on my wall growing up, and I memorized it: âTo be a star, you must shine your own light and do not be afraid of the darkness, for that is when stars shine their brightest.â We each need to be who we are born to be and be a LIGHT in the world. The song for HIV/AIDS was my first ârealâ song for the masses. Everything was donated on that song, and that was long before I knew any one with HIV/AIDS. I was a teenager when I wrote, sang and then recorded it with BT. The reason I wanted to do this song, was to give back to the world. I think we are only as good as what we give away. Thank you so much for asking me to be part of your magazine. I am honored and yes, I promise to keep you posted on my life, just for the Fawn of it! Ha Ha. Novel Name: Walkers by Joseph J. OâDonnell
Joseph J. OâDonnellâs second book, âWalkersâ, centers around one of the U.S. Armyâs black box programs hatched out their âskunk worksâ at Fort Meade.
Here, mind control projects have created agents possessing the ability to penetrate the deepest secrets of the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Following the end of hostilities the government abandoned the project and scattered those involved back into various branches of the service.

One renegade general kept the project alive, however, and heightened selected agents by extending their ability to become assassins. Now that his plans were discovered, his trained agents were to become the tools to eliminate those opposed to the project. This would include the President of the United States.
Two FBI agents, along with a lone dissenter of the generalâs âschool of thoughtâ, was all that stood between democracy and despotism. The authorâs ability to hold his readers from the very beginning, through the final pages, will surely make this a memorable book to fit in with such classics as âSeven Days In Mayâ and âThe Manchurian Candidateâ.

Interview with Esteban Steven Escobar Featured On The Eerie Digest
August 1, 2010 by Esteban "Steven" Escobar
Filed under Featured, FEATURES
Esteban Escobar AKA Steven Escobar was interviewed and is now been featured for the month of August 2010 on The Eerie Digest Magazine.
Â
Please read the interview and leave any comments about it. Thank You.

HERE IS HOW THE INTERVIEW STARTED:
ED- The Eerie Digest is proud to present Esteban âStevenâ Escobar, The publisher of Diversity News to all of our readers. Steven, you have become a Media Partner of ours over the internet linking some of the best news throughout the Film Industry. How did you originally get started in this field of media?
ESE- Well, I started to show interest in design, entertainment field since high school. I created a bilingual (English & Spanish) publication named News/Noticias. I got contributors and it was distributed free in high school and via U.S. mail. Later joined the Yearbook Staff as people editor during my senior year at U.S. Grant High School. When I graduated in 1994 I enrolled in Los Angeles City College and selected my mayor as Journalism. While going to college I was still running News/Noticias was distributed all over Southern CA. Well it was time to get a job, so I walked to this employment agency where I saw in this conference room the word âDiversityâ I did like the meaning and in 2003 I decided to create a new company with a new vision, mission and values and the is when Diversity News Publications was born. Why publications, well while I was in college I also was running The Colleague the was distributed in College only. So by creating Diversity News Publications I would not limit the company to one publication. So the goal is to run couple publications to serve and targeting specific market or group, not only here in CA, the plan is to go national and then international. Diversity News (Revista Diversidad), a print publication was born in 2003 and distributed free all over Southern CA, via U.S. mail to different states. Thanks to the technology Diversity News Magazine stopped printing and in 2007 I register DiversityNewsPublications.Com a company in Washington have already register Diversity News. The was a website with different pages, but I was not happy, so in 2009 I decided to take it to the high level and hire a webmaster who gave Diversity News Publications a complete makeover. As you may see DiversityNewsPublications.Com coverage have been the best because we cover events and we write about them and the is what event organizers/publicists wants.

ED- Tell us about your entertainment company, Diversity News Productions.
ESE- Well, when I register the company I decided to register all other divisions and yes Diversity News Productions was created around 2003 to present and the is to start promoting events for our selves and clients. Diversity News Publications have been hired as independent consultant and makes the necessary arrangements to run a smooth event in partnership with event organizers and promoters. Also to do videos for our company and clients as well and share them online or via DVD.
ED- What aspects of the film industry does Diversity News follow closely?

ESE- Diversity News it is a consumer news magazine. Our intentions is to try to give the best to our readers, because do not forget we are also consumers. I personally do not endorse a product or service if it is not worthy their money or would not benefit them. Our readers are very important for us, that is why we want to have an open communication for them to tell us, if they like what they see or read and what changes they want.

ED- How does it differ from other newscasts of this nature?
ESE- Newscast, well Diversity News is an online publication, thanks to the internet (Lol). But we are considering also taking Diversity News with our division Diversity News Productions to be air on radio and TV in the future.

ED- Is there a certain audience that you target?
ESE- Oh yes, I think as publishers we must identify whom we are working and serving. Diversity News is targeting every one who it do not discriminate whom you are, your religion, sex, handicap, color. We are a publication the wants to be your friend, not trying to replace the bible but we want to be your friends for life and to tell other people about us.
ED- You also run Diversity News Printing Services. Tell us about the agenda of this service.
ESE- Great question, Diversity News Printing Services is another division of the parent company Diversity News Publications and yes we do it once a while print flyers and business cards for customers. We have over 10 contracts with major printing companies all over the USA. Basically this division needs more concentration and the is something I need to focus. Diversity News Printing Services makes profit for us then any other division of the company.

ED- We have been following your program on the net and noticed that you cover many charities and Red Carpet Events. Tell us of your involvement in these productions and the work that goes into it.
ESE- Honestly, I do not want to cover an event only because it is example: ABC birthday bash. Personally the event must be attached to a legit legal charity the will give back to the community. By covering charities events we feel we are giving back to the community. For your information since 2003 to present we created Diversity News#3960 or Team Diversity News#3960 for Aids Walk LA and we raise money the goes to Aids Project Los Angeles and other non profit organizations. We do events to raise money, we walk and I personally make donations towards the event. I can tell you the some charities founders are running organizations as their own business, but charities are public entities especially when you are asking the public for donations/money. Every time a charity wants me to cover or help on their event I check with the attorney general, secretary of state and registar office to see their status. I can share with you the some charities founders are pocketing the money and they are not distributing according to their purpose or mission. Even I can share with you the if you run a charity you can not have blood relatives working on it. I see all the times, but as long they do not take my money I would not say anything.
ED- What other events do you target?
ESE- The events the we target are basically news worthy. It is very important to know whom is running it, the venue, parking, how we will get treated. You know the as writers we do not make a lot of money or nothing at all in covering events, but we help people in their career by featuring them or their events. If a promoter or publicist invites me to an event and I have to pay cover charge or parking I would not cover it. Our policy is the we do not accept gifts, food, money or drinks from publicists unless other media outlets are consuming it. Let me also say the if a publicist wants their client on our site to be feature we will charge a small fee because it is fair for the artist/talent that their money is been invested in the right way.

ED- What other plans are forthcoming for your enterprise ?
ESE-Â A new makeover for DiversityNewsPublications.Com, get our company name, services and products in many readers and fans. As I stated earlier creating the Broadcast radio and TV news show. Also to be the publicist for more corporate companies outhere. Dealing with talent/artists is a nightmare. So my experience working as publicist for corporate clients is the best.
ED- Where do you see Diversity News going five years from now ?
ESE- Â Another great question. I just hope GOD can help me and the nothing bad can happen in my life. Been healthy is the main key and creating the right networking relationship with other media outlets, publicists and news makers and shakers. Also we want to continue writing our articles as much informative and be neutral at all times and as always write as a third person. We will create some controversy to get our readers attention and reactions. We follow The Associated Press Stylebook in our writings all the times.

ED- Steven, it has been a real pleasure to introduce you to all our readers. As our Media Partner on the West Coast, The Eerie Digest plans to work closely with you for many years to come and enjoy helping promote the Entertainment Industry with our reach around the world.
